Millcreek Township, the City of Erie, and the Erie Kiwanis Club are collaborating to install at least 45 banners throughout Millcreek and the City of Erie May 26 until May 27.
These banners are part of the Hometown Heroes Banner Program honoring local service members. The community was welcomed to order these banners beginning in November 2025.
The Millcreek Township Streets Department will be installing these banners today and tomorrow. Sponsors include Wabtec, National Fuel, Dee Caruana with Agresti Real Estate, and Erie Port Authority. Kiwanis Club ordered the banners in bulk.
In Millcreek the banners will be showcased starting from Waldameer Park. In the City of Erie, the banners can be found from Dobbins Landing and headed South.
The banners will remain up for two years, after two years the banners will be brought down and given back to the individuals who ordered them.
In two years, the community can once again order the banners, the hope is to receive more banner requests.
