A Scranton man attempted to force his way into a residence and threatened to kill a man after a dispute over a children’s water gun, police charge.
Wilfred Quintana-Robles, 47, is charged with making terroristic threats, assault, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.
The incident stemmed from an earlier dispute over the children’s toy, after which police advised two neighbors to stay away from each other, according to a criminal complaint.
Officers were called back to the 500 block of Mary Street on May 16 at about 9 p.m.
Tyler Conden and Alyssa Steinruck said Quintana-Robles attempted to force the door of the residence open while Conden tried to close it. They told police Quintana-Robles threatened to kill Conden.
Conden said Quintana-Robles yelled, “Give me the gun,” leaving him shaken and fearing for his life.
Police officers arrested Quintana-Robles, of 581 Mary St., and transported him to police headquarters.
Quintana-Robles admitted he pushed the door and told Conden he wanted to “handle it like men,” but denied threatening to kill Conden.
Officers searched Quintana-Robles and found two marijuana joints. He is also charged with harassment and possession of paraphernalia.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 27 before District Judge Joanne Corbett.
