State lawmakers are holding a town hall in Lancaster County to discuss a proposal to eliminate school property taxes in Pennsylvania. A group of Republican lawmakers representing various parts of the Susquehanna Valley will take part in the event at Elizabethtown High School. Organizers say residents will have the opportunity to ask questions about two bills, one in the state House and one in the state Senate, that would end school property taxes statewide. To replace the lost revenue, the proposals call for a two percent increase in the state sales tax. The bills would also allow school districts to impose a local personal income tax of up to nearly two percent. The town hall is scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. See news happening?
