The event took place at Schaffner Park in Dauphin County. Officials planted the ceremonial 10 millionth tree through the Keystone 10 Million Trees Partnership.
The Shapiro Administration said that the partnership was launched in 2018 and aimed to plant 10 million trees across priority landscapes in Pennsylvania.
Reaching the goal means a significant achievement in restoring watersheds, improving water quality, and strengthening local ecosystems, according to the Shapiro Administration.
