NORRISTOWN, Pa. – Authorities in Montgomery County say two arrests have been made in the fatal shooting of a Pottstown man.
Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele and Pottstown Police Chief Mick Markovich announced the arrests of 20-year-old Denajah Bailey and 20-year-old Amaury Sahad, both of Pottstown, on charges related to the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Xavier Jeffers.
On May 20, 2026, Pottstown Police were dispatched to the 400 block of West Street for a 911 call placed by Sahad reporting an accidental shooting.

Police found Jeffers in the rear bedroom of the residence suffering from a gunshot wound to the left side of his head.
A black Glock 43X loaded handgun was allegedly recovered from the bedroom. Police say a check of the firearm’s serial number found that it had been reported stolen to the Philadelphia Police on December 30, 2025.
A joint homicide investigation by Montgomery County Detectives and Pottstown Police found that Bailey, Sahad and Jeffers were in Bailey’s bedroom, and all three were handling the firearm that was illegally obtained by Sahad.

Investigators say Bailey pointed the firearm at Jeffers while she and Jeffers were on her bed and Sahad was seated nearby on a chair. She allegedly pulled the trigger, shooting Jeffers in the head.
An autopsy determined the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head/neck and the manner of death was homicide.
Bailey is charged with third-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter, possessing an instrument of crime and recklessly endangering another person.
Sahad is charged with receiving stolen property, firearms not to be carried without a license and possessing an instrument of crime.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for both defendants on June 9.
