A teenager was shot in the chest in the Mayfair section of Northeast Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
The shooting happened around 5 p.m. on May 27 on the 3000 block of Nesper Street, police said.
When officers got to the scene, they found a 15-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest, officials explained.
He was taken to a nearby hospital where he is currently listed in stable but critical condition, police said.
SkyForce10 was over the scene around 6 p.m. where red and yellow police tape could be seen blocking off an area of the street as officers investigated.
At one point, a silver handgun could be seen on the road behind the back tire of a vehicle parked on the street.
No word yet on what led to the shooting or if anyone else was hurt.
