SALISBURY TOWNSHIP, Pa. – An intersection in Lehigh County is closed until further notice on Wednesday due to a police incident.
Salisbury Township Police have the intersection of Route 145 and South 4th Street closed until further notice due to a police incident in the area of South Pike Avenue, according to county dispatchers.
Dispatchers say that police will be on the scene and the road will be closed until further notice.
A U-Haul trailer struck a Verizon utility pole at South 4th and Normandy Streets, severely damaging the pole and bringing down wires around 5:00 p.m..
Allentown police responded to the scene and were assisted by Salisbury Township police.
As of 7:00 p.m., police were still waiting on Verizon crews to repair the damage, according to officials.
Authorities say that nobody was injured in the incident.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area of Route 145, South 4th Street, and East Rock Road, and to take West Rock Road, or Route 145 to 309 South, to I-78 as a detour.
