PHILADELPHIA, Miss. (WTOK) -One person is injured after Philadelphia Police Chief Eric Lyons says the individual crashed their vehicle into a gas pump.
This incident occurred at the Shell Gas Station on Hwy 16 East around 6:30 PM, he says they hit the gas pump, resulting in the fire.
Upon arrival, officers found the vehicle in an overgrown lot next to the store with heavy damage. They later found out the driver of the vehicle backed out erratically and backed over a gas pump, which also hit another car, creating the fire.
The vehicle pulled off, attempting to leave, but crashed into the overgrown lot next to the store. The driver was taken to the hospital with charges expected to follow. No other bystander was injured.
