Ahead of Pride Month, the Philadelphia Orchestra announced plans for its fifth annual free Pride Celebration and Concert, set for June 30.

Hosted by drag superstar Trixie Mattel, the evening will celebrate the Philadelphia region’s LGBTQ+ community and take place in the Marian Anderson Hall at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and is presented in partnership with Wawa Welcome America as part of Philadelphia’s America 250 celebration.

The evening will begin with a pre-concert celebration at Commonwealth inside the Kimmel Center, where guests dressed in their Pride best can treat themselves to a glitter tattoo or face paint before showing off their flair on a walk on the Rainbow Runway. The pre-concert fun will also include a set from DJ Da_BooBoo, giveaways by Ensemble Arts Philly, a Philadelphia Orchestra merchandise table, and a photobooth to help capture the unforgettable evening.

The early fun will also include a drag showcase, hosted by Philadelphia-based drag queen Mandy Mango and featuring locally-based kings and queens Jenny Henny, Mister Right, Romeo Blaque, Yari, Hannibal Lickher, Paula Deen White, and KenDoll Carter.

From there, the evening will move into Marian Anderson Hall for the concert, led by conductor Carolyn Kuan, for a musical evening featuring performances of select songs, including Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way,’ Madonna’s ‘Vogue,’ Carly Simon’s ‘Let the River Run,’ and much more. The ANNA Crusis Feminist Choir, Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus, Philadelphia Voices of Pride, and the Transcendent Choir of Philadelphia will headline the performances, while the Orchestra will also perform selections from ‘West Side Story,’ ‘Frozen,’ and Tchaikovsky’s ‘Romeo and Juliet.’
