A Bethlehem grocery store is celebrating thousands of new items, renovations and more.

Gerrity’s The Fresh Grocer will hold a ribbon cutting for the expansion at 10 a.m. Friday at 1880 Stefko Blvd. in Bethlehem, according to a news release.

The changes include 5,000 new items across prepared foods, baked goods, organic products, beauty items and pet food; expanded deli and seafood options; improvements to the decor and layout; and new lighting, HVAC and display cases.

Co-owner Joe Fasula said the store operates 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week.

The store previously operated as Valley Farm Market before Gerrity’s acquired it in 2021. The property also once hosted a Laneco supermarket.

According to the news release, Gerrity’s began in 1895 as a butcher shop and operates 10 supermarkets in Lackawanna, Luzerne and Northampton counties.
