The Erie County Sheriff’s Office is set to host a License to Carry event at Edinboro Outdoors 301 Mill Street in Edinboro. The event aims at improving access to essential services for residents of southern Erie County.
The upcoming outreach initiative will provide a convenient opportunity for individuals to apply for or renew their licenses closer to home.
The event is open to both new applicants and those seeking renewals, as long as their current license is set to expire within the next 60 days. Officials say the effort is part of a broader plan to bring services directly to communities across the county.
Participants must meet several requirements to be eligible:
Must be a resident of Erie County
Must present a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license or a PennDOT-issued photo ID with their current address
Applications will be available on-site during the event, allowing residents to complete the process in person. The cost to apply is $20, and payment must be made in cash. Applications submitted online through Permitium cannot be processed at this event and must instead be handled at the Sheriff’s Office
The Sheriff’s Office encourages those interested in attending to come prepared with the required identification and payment to ensure a smooth experience.
