The month of June marks the start of summer vacation for many, which means summer entertainment in the Erie area is in full swing.
We’ve compiled a list of suggestions for what to do in June, and beyond in some cases. We will update the list as new events are announced through the month. More entertainment options can be found on GoErie.com/calendar.
Glow Wild: Every Thursday through Sunday from June 1 through July 5 from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Erie Zoo, 423 West 38th St. Marvel at stunning, handcrafted lanterns inspired by your favorite zoo animals. Tickets range from $17-$22.
“Legally Gray“: June 1-June 21 at Station Dinner theater at 4940 Peach St. Shows take place on Fridays at 6:30 p.m., Saturdays at 5:30 p.m. Sundays at 2:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at noon. Mike and Marie tried to enjoy retirement, then in moved their 30-year-old daughter and her failed acting career, and Grandma and her gambling habits, resulting in a house full of family chaos. Food ‘N Cruze: June 2 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at St. Nick’s Picnic Grove at 5131 Old French Road. The seventh classic and specialty car cruise-in and food truck festival for St. Nicholas Orthodox Church. This event is free and open to the public.
Cinderella’s Tom Keifer with LA Guns: June 3 at 7:30 p.m. at Warner Theatre at 811 State St. Tom Keifer remains a resilient and relevant figure in the rock world. He’s the singer, songwriter, guitarist and front man for the hard rock band Cinderella. Purchase tickets online or at the Erie Insurance Arena box office or by calling 814-452-4857. Tickets range from $82 to $94 plus fees.
Vicki Barbolak: June 5 at 7 p.m. and June 6 at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. at Kellar’s Modern Magic and Comedy Club at 1401 State St. Vicki Barbolak, coined the phrase “Trailer Nasty”, and her fans love her for it. Tickets are $25 apiece plus fees and can be purchased online or by calling 814-461-0911.
Equipment Day: June 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Erie Zoo at 423 W. 38th St. The big trucks have made their way to the Erie Zoo. The zoo will welcome some colossal machinery. This event is family-friendly allowing kids an up close experience with heavy-duty machinery including tractors and construction equipment. Admission included with zoo admission. Call 814-864-4091.
The Fray: June 6 at 5 p.m. at Erie Insurance Arena at 809 French St. Part of the America250PA concert series, Erie will host The Fray, an American rock band from Denver formed in 2002. This concert is sold out. Opening act is Erie-based First to Eleven.
Duran’s Down Home Days: June 6 and 7 at the ball field side of the park in Waterford on High Street. This festival is filled with food competitions, line dancing, live music, contests and more. Event is free to attend. Call 814-490-2179.
Aaron Lewis and the Stateliners: June 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Warner Theatre at 811 State St. Aaron Lewis, the Vermont-born powerhouse first found success with Staind, the 2000s era hard rockers. Drag Queen Bingo: June 11 at 7 p.m. Two hours of ridiculous fun and prizes at Kellar’s Modern Magic and Comedy Club at 1401 State St. Tickets are $28 plus fees. Purchase tickets online or by calling 814-461-0911.
14th Fest: June 11 on East 14th Street between French and Holland streets. Hosted by the Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority and the Erie Downtown Partnership, the event celebrates the beginning of summer and all that Erie has to offer. Free admission. Corry Fest: June 11-15. A hometown Celebration for Corry. Festival includes Bear Hollow Carving providing world-class chainsaw carvers doing live carving. Event also includes food vendors, crafts, merchandise, a kids corner and more. Call 814-665-9925.

Tom Briscoe: June 12 and 13 at 7 p.m. at Kellar’s Modern Magic and Comedy Club at 1401 State St. Briscoe’s Top 10 Dry Bar Comedy Special has 3 million full episode views and still counting. Cuts from his comedy albums are in regular rotation on all the comedy satellite radio stations. Tickets are $25 apiece plus fees and can be purchased online or by calling 814-461-0911.
Eerie Stories, Legends and Lore Ghost Tour: June 12 at 7:30 p.m. at Flagship City Food Hall at 22 North Park Row. Explore Erie’s darker past, battles, shipwrecks, ghosts, true crimes and legends from the Battle of Lake Erie to Misery Bay. Tickets are $20 a piece and can be purchased online.
“1776“: June 12-28 at the Erie Playhouse at 13 W. 10th St. Witness the birth of a nation in “1776”, a revolutionary musical experience. Join John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, and other iconic figures as they draft the Declaration of Independence. An Evening with Wilco: June 14 at 7 p.m. at 1 Ames Avenue in Chautauqua, New York. Wilco has been a pioneering force in independent music. The Chicago rock band has 13 studio albums and multiple Grammy Awards. Tickets range from $50 to $150 and can be purchased online or by calling 716-357-6250.
UPMC Sunset Music Series: June 17 and 22 from 5:30 p.m. to sunset at Presque Isle State Park Beach 1. Six evenings of live music directly onto the sand at Presque Isle. A free weekly concert series that takes place every Wednesday. This music series features live music performances, food trucks and refreshments, extended swimming hours at Presque Isle, and weekly raffles. June 17 features opener Flagship Steel Band and headliner Tommy Link. June 24 opener is Bummer Country and headliner is Ray and the County Kind.
“The Book of Mormon“: June 17 and 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Warner Theatre at 811 State St. Part of the Broadway in Erie series. The musical comedy follows the adventures of a mismatched pair of missionaries sent halfway across the world to spread the good word. Jim Florentine: June 18-20 at 7 p.m. at Kellar’s Modern Magic and Comedy Club at 1401 State St. An Emmy award veteran with regular appearances on “Gutfeld,” “Kill Tony” and his past credits including co-host of “That Metal Show,” “Crank Yankers,” and numerous others, Florentine recently released his fifth comedy special along with four standup comedy albums and seven “Terrorizing Telemarketers” albums. Thurston Classic: June 18-21 at 204 Park Avenue in Meadville. The Meadville tradition continues as the annual hot air balloon event returns. The hot air balloons are inflated on June 18 at 5 p.m. and the first flight kicks off at 9 p.m. on June 19. This is a free event.
The Lazerganza Show: June 19 at 9:15 p.m. at 800 Napier Park in Lawrence Park. A night of music, lights and family fun. Music provided by DJ Ray. The music is synced with the vibrant laser display that will light up the sky. Bring your own chair to the event.
Sol Fest: June 20 at noon at Rebich Investments Amphitheater: Sol Fest blends live music, wellness experiences, movement and community into one lakeside gathering. This event features two live sets with a DJ alongside workshops, healing arts and live performances. Tickets can be purchased online and range from $23.18 to $548.18 plus fees. Kids under the age of four are free.
Wesleyville Community Day: June 20 at Wesleyville Memorial Park between North Street and Wesley Avenue. Free admission. A community festival featuring fun for the whole family. Event includes fireworks, family-friendly activities, crafts, live music and wrestling. Call 814-899-5177.
Erie Juneteenth: June 20 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Perry Square in downtown Erie. Free to attend. A celebration of African American heritage and history. This family-friendly festival includes live music, vendors, giveaways and special guests.
Ian Bagg: June 25 at 7 p.m. and 26 at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. at Kellar’s Modern Magic and Comedy Club at 1401 State St. Ian Bagg is a world-touring comedian who is the cohost of a weekly hockey podcast. Ian has toured across America, Australia, China and the Middle East. He made it to the finals of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing.” Tickets are $35 a piece plus fees. Trash Alley Party: June 26 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 419 State St. One of the city’s most unexpected gathering spaces as the alley behind 429 State St. transforms into a hidden music venue tucked away just off of East Fifth Street. The live music begins at 8 p.m. and refreshments will be sold by Hazards Mini Golf.
Pride on the Bay: June 27 from noon until 5 p.m. at the Rebich Investments Amphitheater at Liberty Park. Event includes local vendors and artisans, community resources, food trucks, live music, a drag show and other interactive experiences. Free admission. Call 814-314-9075.
Wynonna Judd and Melissa Etheridge with Maggie Rose: June 27 at 6:30 p.m. at 1 Ames Avenue in Chautauqua, New York. Join the Chautauqua Institution for an evening of country and rock with the powerhouse mashup of Wynonna Judd and Melissa Etheridge. The Mane Event: A Night in Monte Carlo: June 27 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Erie Zoo at 423 W. 38th St. For one unforgettable evening, the Erie Zoo will transform into a glittering destination filled with excitement and Monte Carlo-inspired nightlife. The event includes unlimited food, libations, live entertainment and casino-inspired fun throughout the zoo. There will be a silent auction, animal ambassadors and behind-the-scene adventures.
