READING, Pa. – The Reading Area Fire Museum has announced the death of its president, William H. Rehr III.
William, also known as ‘Bill’, was the museum’s president and served as the city’s 15th fire chief from Sept. 1, 1996, until Dec. 31, 2010.
In a Facebook post, the museum said Bill was a dedicated leader and advocate for preserving the history of firefighting in Reading.
“His vision, commitment, and contributions helped make the museum a treasured resource for generations. We extend our deepest condolences to Bill’s family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him,” the post read.
