S. WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. – A former hot spot for Mediterranean cuisine could be gaining a new tenant in Lehigh County.
The property that was previously home to Carmel Kitchen & Wine Bar, at 3750 Hamilton Blvd. in South Whitehall Township, is under contract with a confidential prospective buyer, according to James Balliet, the property’s real estate agent and president of The James Balliet Property Group.

The prospective buyer and their desired used of the space can’t yet be revealed, Balliet told 69 News on Oct. 9.
The prospective buyer is in a “due diligence period,” where they are examining the property for their intended use and needs, Balliet added.
“It’s under agreement, but the use can’t be divulged,” Balliet said. “They haven’t gone to the township yet.”
If the property goes to settlement, an announcement regarding the new buyer would likely be made at a later date, Balliet said.

Balliet couldn’t comment further on the property, including how long the due diligence period is expected to last.
Carmel Kitchen abruptly closed in 2018 after roughly three years of business on Hamilton Boulevard.
Previously, the property was home to Mangos Coastal Cuisine.
The freestanding building, totaling more than 8,000 square feet, is situated on 1.75 acres with 105 parking spaces.
The structure was built in 1982 and renovated in 2015.
The property has a listing price of $2,750,000.
