HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM)– A New Jersey woman was kicked out of a local casino for being on the lifetime ban list after she hit a jackpot.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, a 69-year-old woman from Asbury, New Jersey, was escorted off the Hollywood Casino Grantville property after winning a slot machine jackpot on Sunday, May 31.

State Police said Hollywood Casino contacted Penn National after identifying a guest on the gaming floor as a woman who had self-excluded herself for a lifetime exclusion status in 2019.

Troopers responded to the scene and escorted the woman off the property. State Police said a non-traffic citation for trespassing will be filed against her.

It is unclear if the woman was able to keep the money. Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board spokesperson (PGCB), Doug Harbach, previously said that jackpots forfeited by people like the woman go to the PGCB and are used to fight gambling addiction.

According to the PGCB, only self-identified problem gamblers can add themselves to the self-exclusion list for one year, five years, or life.

A similar incident occurred in 2025, when a man who had banned himself from casinos for life managed to gamble in a Pennsylvania casino and hit a $57,000 jackpot, which he didn’t get to keep.
