SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A local car dealership is giving back to the community in a big way. Toyota of Scranton is donating $25,000 to 10 nonprofits.
The donation is part of the dealership’s Community Day and NEPA Gives Day of Giving.
Representatives of 10 organizations, listed below, each received a check on Monday to help them continue their work in the community:
Individual Abilities in Motion
Griffin Pond Animal Shelter
Friends of the Poor and Catherine McAuley Center
Pawsitively for the Animals
“We’re incredibly grateful for the support that they continue to show our organization and it’s really just an affirmation of how much they believe in the work that we do to support people with mobility impairments,” Individual Abilities in Motion President Joe Salva said.

“This is monumental, I mean as an all volunteer organization this isn’t a job for us, this is a passion to save as many dogs as we can, they deserve better,” Adopt a Boxer Rescue Director Dawn Karam stated.
This is the fifth year Toyota of Scranton has hosted the community event.
