Erie County, Union City acquire former chair manufacturing building for redevelopment
It’s furniture businesses like the Union City Chair Company that earned the town its historic catchphrase, “Union City seats the world.” Before it shut down in 2000, the chair company operated for more than 100 years, manufacturing millions of hardwood chairs, but now all that remains are aging buildings from a different time. Two McDowell schools set to unify for 2026-27 school year
