Firefighters handle electronics on fire in Collingdale

Collingdale firefighters made quick work of a basement fire on Monday afternoon.

Crews were called shortly before 4:30 p.m. to the 100 block of Hansen Terrace for smoke coming from the basement.

Borough Fire Marshal Colin McCann said nobody was at home at the time, but the flames were contained the basement bathroom.

Crews were able to quickly control the fire with smoke damage to the home, and minimal water damage in the basement.

There were no injuries The Red Cross was called to assist the residents with housing.

The blaze was related to a computing device fire, McCann said.
