EXETER TWP., Pa. – During its Committee of the Whole meeting Tuesday night, the school board of Exeter Township School District agreed to advance its final $92 million 2026-27 budget to the June 16 voting meeting.
The adoption of the budget will also mean a 3.5% hike in property taxes.
Property owners in the township currently pay a tax rate of 37.0024 mills.
With a 3.5% increase, the taxes will rise to 38.2975 mills, meaning a property assessed at $100,000 would have an annual tax bill of $3,830.
The tax increase is needed to close a budget gap to submit a balanced budget to the state by July 1.
The board did not have any further discussions on the budget or the tax increase Tuesday night, nor did any members of the public have comments.
The board will also be voting on the resolution to continue collecting a per capita tax of $5 from every resident in the district.
