BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A 19-year-old man is seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle in Bethlehem Tuesday night.

Officers were sent to the 1200 block of West Broad Street for a report of a crash involving a pedestrian shortly after 10:30 p.m. the Bethlehem Police Department said in a news release.

Police say an officer who was already in the area responded immediately and found the man lying in the roadway with severe injuries. Crews on scene began life-saving measures.

City police said the man was taken to a local hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries. 

The involved vehicle remained on scene following the crash, and the driver is cooperating with investigators, police said in the news release.

Police said the investigation remains active.
