A Wilkes-Barre man ran through Cinemark movie theater in Moosic on Sunday, chased children, threw items and wrote on surfaces with red permanent marker, police charge.
Christopher Ziemba, 57, of North Washington Street, told investigators he had been drinking in the taxi on the way to the movies, according to a criminal complaint.
A police search following his arrest yielded six grams of THC and a glass pipe.
Theater staff called officers at about 11:30 p.m. Staff said Ziemba wrote on the floors of the theater, as well as walls, toilets, sinks, mirrors, hand dryer and bathroom entry door with red permanent marker, according to the complaint.
Staff found the marker behind a seat in theater 19, in which Ziemba had been sitting during a movie.
Cinemark Manager Jeremey Dyches told officers Ziemba also chased kids out of the theater. Dyches told officers he would provide an estimated cost of damages.
Police charged Ziemba with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness. He remains at Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. on June 15 before District Judge Alyce Farrell.
