HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — It’s a caucus at the Capitol that meets just one day a year, and everybody is dressed for success.
This is the annual Seersucker Caucus. Legislators and staffers, even lobbyists, are all encouraged to wear the light puckered cotton on one day each year.

It’s been a June tradition in Harrisburg for more than two decades.
State Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski (D-Luzerne) has been the main organizer for years, but he is retiring, and this was his last seersucker soiree.
“It brings House members, Senate members, Democrat, Republican, it brings the staff together. We also invite the lobbyists. It’s everyone that’s involved in the operation of Pennsylvania state government. Just a fun way to do that togetherness,” said Pashinski said.
The event also encourages clothing donations for the nonprofit Dress for Success, which helps lower-income folks get professional attire.
