Temple University’s vice president for Public Safety is stepping down at the end of the month.
Jennifer Griffin has been with the school for nearly four years and she was brought in after the 2021 murder of Temple student Sam Collington.
During her time in the role, she has faced some criticism for not doing enough to hire and keep officers.
On June 3, Temple University President John Fry told the school community that Griffin is celebrated for dozens of operational and technical enhancements, partnerships and engagement with the North Philadelphia community.
There will be a national search for her replacement but an interim vice president of public safety has not yet been named.
Griffin’s last day is set for June 30, 2026.
