A woman and teen were taken to a hospital Thursday morning after high winds blew fencing over in the area of Keystone and Lansdowne avenues in Upper Darby.

Township police and EMS personnel responded about 8:30 a.m. for a report of a construction sign that had fallen on two pedestrians.

A police report states the victims were near located the former Monsignor Bonner & Prendergast High School entrance at 403 N. Lansdowne Ave.

A construction fence with a sign on it fell over and struck the victims, police said. The teen, a 14-year-old, was taken to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and the 22-year-old adult to Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital.

The police report states the fence belongs to the construction company Ernest Bock & Sons Inc., which is working on the new Delaware County Community College annex called the Southeast Center, which is expected to open in early 2026.

This clarifies an earlier police summary report indicating the incident happened outside the former Delaware County Memorial Hospital, which was purchased by Upper Darby School District in August.
