SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) – Even after his heroic effort, Braedon McPartland remains humble. The junior led the Cavaliers with three goals in a slug it out state tournament win over Lower Dauphin on Tuesday.

“I’m kinda thinking more about us just getting the win, moving on and pulling the win off more than myself and my credit,” McPartland said after the game. We practice for this all the time in practice, late two minute drills we’re always working for it so I got the ball and I knew I could get underneath him and try to score and I just took the ball and did it.”
Now back to back sudden death victories for McPartland and Scranton Prep, Head Coach Keith Toolan saying it never gets easier but gives all the credit to his Cavs and the junior midfielder.
“We knew the shots we had to take had to be quality and good shots,” Toolan said. “We couldn’t just throw the ball and play catch with the goalie. Tato made a great move to get to the crease and make a goal and we got one in at the end when it counted.”
Scranton Prep will face Twin Valley on Saturday in the PIAA 2A state quarterfinals, starting at 3:00 p.m. from Emmaus High School.
