Matt Rudick’s RBI single in the bottom of the ninth sent Syracuse to a 3-2 victory over Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday at NBT Bank Stadium.

Tied, 2-2, in the bottom of the ninth, Cristian Pache had a leadoff single, and Jackson Cluff bunted to advance Pache to second. Pache then advanced to third on Yovanny Cruz’s wild pitch. Bradley Hanner relieved Cruz, and Rudick ripped a line drive to right for the walk-off win.

Oswaldo Cabrera gave the RailRiders (30-29) an early lead with an RBI single to left in the top of the third inning. Tyler Hardman added a solo home run to right for a 2-0 lead in the fourth.

Christian Arroyo tied it with a two-run blast to center in the bottom of the fifth, before Rudick sealed the win for the Mets (31-29) four innings later.

The series continues Friday at 6:35 p.m. with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre’s Brendan Beck (4-2 record, 3.97 ERA) and Syracuse’s Jack Wenninger (3-3, 2.80) the probable starters.
