A murder victim whose dismembered body was found in Massachusetts in 2000 has been identified as a 16-year-old Allentown teen, the FBI said.

The FBI said Tiffany Bradley was identified as the victim known as “Chelsea Jane Doe” for the past 26 years through investigative genetic genealogy.

The agency said Bradley was trafficked across state lines, decapitated, dismembered and dumped in the back of a parking lot on Crest Avenue in Chelsea, Massachusetts.

Eugene McCollom of Lynn, Massachusetts, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in her death and was sentenced to life in prison in 2005 for that crime and the killing of John “Jackie” Leyden.

According to a report in the Boston Globe, Bradley was reported missing on Nov. 8, 2000.

“Even though her killer is behind bars, investigators have worked tirelessly to determine who she was, where she came from, and who might still be searching for her,” said Special Agent in Charge Ted Docks of the FBI’s Boston office, in a statement. “By combining traditional investigative work with advanced DNA analysis and genealogical research, the FBI and our partners were able to provide Tiffany’s family with answers.”

In an emotional press conference, Bradley’s aunt, Janet Bradley-Knight, said the teen was athletic, loved dancing and loved trips to Florida, where she was amazed by the “white, crystal sand.”

“I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for not letting my baby be a shell,” she said through tears. “I thank you all for your tireless efforts.”
