Bethlehem’s historic downtown has received recognition from yet another national publication.
Travel + Leisure has named Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites one of the best places in America to spend July 4.
The magazine said Bethlehem was a good alternative to more crowded places, such as Philadelphia, for people celebrating the country’s 250th anniversary.
“For travelers who’d rather skip the crowds of a major city celebration without sacrificing historical depth, Bethlehem offers a fantastic alternative just a short drive away,” Travel + Leisure wrote.
Travel + Leisure highlighted several offerings from historic sites, including the Ales & Tales Revolutionary Pub Walking Tour, the Bethlehem and the Revolution Tour, the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Moravian Church settlements and Hotel Bethlehem.
“This recognition is a testament to our community and supporters who work incredibly hard to preserve and share our historic treasures,” said HBMS President and CEO LoriAnn Wukitsch. “The story also demonstrates that historic Bethlehem is a year-round destination.”
