A big night at Erie Insurance Arena to celebrate our nation’s birthday.
America250PA chose Erie as one of five stops for a free Commonwealth concert series. One of the most anticipated concerts in the region finally took the stage as the America 250 free concert series kicked off with the world-famous rock band The Fray.
The night opened with the national anthem, setting the tone for a celebration tied directly to America’s upcoming 250th birthday.
Then Erie’s own First to Eleven took the stage — a hometown band with a national following — bringing high energy and a packed arena to its feet.
“It is really, really crazy to think that Erie was chosen for something of this scale. It makes us feel really special, and it should make all of you feel really special because it’s a great city and it’s a great community.” Audra Miller First to Eleven’s lead singer shared.
The Fray followed, headlining the free concert with the piano-driven hits that defined the 2000s.
And even before the concert kicked off, fans were not holding back their excitement.
“I can always be myself around these people. We grew up with them. It’s just very nice to be around them.” Camryn Gumb, an attendee explained.
That recognition is exactly what the America250 initiative is aiming for. A 250 representative says the concert series is designed to highlight Pennsylvania’s history, culture, and future.
“It’s really an opportunity to bring Pennsylvania together through a shared love of music. What better way to do that and create those semi-centennial memories again than through an event like this?” Cassandra Coleman, The Executive Director for America 250 PA said.
The America 250 concert series continue across the state through 2026, but tonight, Erie had the spotlight — and the community made the most of it.
