Morgan Wallen had an intense reaction to being recorded at a recent show.
On Friday, June 5, the country singer was performing at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh when he flung a fan’s phone across the stage.
Per fan-captured TikTok footage, Wallen, 33, can be seen singing as he walks across the stage to a security guard wearing a yellow shirt, who is holding up a phone that allegedly belonged to a fan.
The “Last Night” performer initially gestures to the phone’s camera and walks back, but then returns to grab it from the security guard’s hand and throws it across the stage.
“Well that just happened… Amy gave her phone to the lady to hand to Morgan Wallen and he launched it. I get it… security should be doing security things, but….” the TikTok user captioned the post.
PEOPLE reached out to reps for Wallen for comment.
The following night, the “I Got Better” artist shared in a post to his Instagram Stories that he was canceling his Saturday, June 6 show at the Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh due to adverse weather conditions.
“After talking to local officials and my team, there is no choice but to cancel tonight’s show due to severe adverse weather conditions expected throughout the rest of the day and night,” Wallen wrote at the time, noting that “safety for my fans and crew is the highest priority.”
“Refunds available at point of purchase,” Wallen added.
He further addressed the cancellation hours later in a video, claiming his team told him to nix the show due to strong winds in the area.
“So that’s what I did. That was the information I had in the moment, and I trusted my team,” said Wallen. “I understand that the wind and whatever else hasn’t gotten to Pittsburgh yet. I know it has touched some of Pennsylvania, so my heart goes out to all those affected by it.”
He noted that his “large stage” could pose danger and “become fatal to a lot of folks around it.”
“I did the best I could with the information I had in that moment,” Wallen added.
He then claimed that there’s “a lot of nonsense about me that is simply not true” and he “just wanted to clear the air.”
“I think my true fans know that that’s not how I operate in general, but I had to say it. Y’all, take care,” Wallen concluded.
At the time, Acrisure Stadium did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment, and reps for Wallen directed PEOPLE to the singer’s Instagram Stories posts.

The cancellation of Wallen’s June 6 show comes after the singer made headlines for flipping a piano onstage during a May 29 concert in Denver.
He had been performing “Sand in My Boots” when the incident happened. Rolling Stone reported that Wallen wasn’t able to hear the piano and then sang the remainder of the track a cappella.
Later, in a TikTok video that appeared to be filmed the night after the show, Wallen commented on the piano-flipping incident.
“Hey, I just want you guys to know that right now this piano is working,” he said in the clip. “That’s what they told me last night.”
“Can’t you tell I’m so distraught over my piano,” Wallen captioned the post.
