MOUNT PENN BORO., Pa. –A World War II veteran from Berks County is marking a major milestone.
Monday was Robert Hartline’s 102nd birthday.
69 News caught up with him at his home in Mount Penn to talk about his life and service.
He recently took a trip to Normandy and says he’s been recognized many times for his service.
When asked about the secret to a long life, Hartline had some pointers.
“You only get one body; you have to take care of it,” he said. “You should keep a positive attitude, a good sense of humor…”
Hartline said he went out for a nice lunch on Monday, and he has plans to celebrate his birthday with family this weekend.
