Carbondale
Leaf collection: City of Carbondale DPW will be collecting leaves on all city streets during the next couple of weeks. Residents are asked to rake leaves to the curbline in front of your property for collection on your regularly scheduled garbage day. The DPW crews will be following the regular garbage routes with the leaf collection machine.
East Scranton

Bus trip: AARP NEPA Chapter 3731 will host a bus trip to the premiere showing of “Joshua” at the Sight and Sound Theatre in Lancaster County on May 29. Front center seats allow patrons to experience one of the most redemptive stories of the Bible. Dinner afterward at the Bird in Hand Smorgasbord is included. Trip is open to the public. Generations Sing Concert: The Catholic Choral Society will present the annual Generations Sing Concert on Nov.16 at 3 p.m. at Holy Rosary Parish, 316 William St., Scranton. Performers include Mid Valley High School Spartan Singers, University of Scranton Campus Ministry Choir, St. Mary of Mount Carmel Elementary School Choir, an organ presentation by Michael Sowa and the Choral Society performance. Ann Manganiello is director of the Choral Society and Linda Houck is the accompanist. Michael O’Malley is the Catholic Choral Society accompanist for this concert. There is no admission charge.

Trash collection: The city Department of Public Works will be picking up trash on Tuesday, Election Day.
West Scranton
Pierogi sale and basket raffle: SS. Peter and Paul’s RC Church, 1309 W. Locust St., is having a pierogi sale and basket raffle every Sunday after the 11 a.m. Mass and Wednesday after the 9 a.m. Mass. Pierogies are $10/dozen.
