72-year-old man hit by vehicle in Allentown in March dies from injuries, coroner says | Allentown Area

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said a 72-year-old man who was hit by a vehicle earlier this year has died from his injuries.

John J. Mongilutz, of Allentown, was pronounced dead early Tuesday morning at a local hospital, Buglio said in a news release.

Buglio said the cause of death is complications of multiple blunt force injuries due to the collision. He ruled the manner of death an accident.

According to Buglio, Mongilutz was hit by a vehicle on March 18 around 11 p.m. in the area of South 6th Street and Chester Street in Allentown.

The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, the Allentown Police Department Traffic Unit, and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office investigated the incident.
