ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Former Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski confirmed to 69 News Reporter Jaccii Farris that he’s scheduled to be released from a federal prison in New York on June 25.
“Yes, I’m getting excited about” being released from prison, Pawlowski told Farris.
Pawlowski said after being released he will report to a halfway house in Philadelphia. He told Farris he is unsure as of now how long he will be there.
He said he will be there a week or two for orientation and then allowed to come home for the weekends and work.
His long-time friend, Alan Jennings, previously told 69 News Pawlowski could be released this summer after completing about half his sentence.
Pawlowski held the office of Allentown Mayor from 2006 until his resignation in March of 2018. In October of that year, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison followed by three years of supervised release. He was convicted on 47 federal charges including bribery, fraud and corruption.
Since late 2018 federal prison is where Pawlowski has been housed.
Jennings had said Pawlowski will first be transferred to a halfway house, followed by a period of house arrest.
