SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Authorities say three people were sent to a nearby hospital, and a home is condemned after a fire in Scranton.
Assistant Chief of the Scranton Fire Department Brian Scott told 28/22 News they were called to the 1700 block of Price Street for a reported residential structure fire Tuesday evening just before 9:45 p.m.
Assistant Chief Scott explained that one of three units in the rental residential structure is condemned, with one person displaced and the Red Cross called to help.

The person displaced also suffered minor burns and was taken to a hospital, while two others in a neighboring unit were sent to the hospital for smoke inhalation, officials told 28/22 News.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, but officials believe it originated in the kitchen.
