Crews were dispatched to the scene of a working house fire in the 100 block of Overhill Road in Upper Darby just after 3 p.m. Tuesday
Radio traffic indicated the first arriving units reported heavy smoke showing from the rear of the two story twin home.
Pump operators requested police to shut down traffic on Chestnut Street as a supply hose line was spread across the street
Units in the rear reported heavy fire coming out the rear with propane involved.
Within 10 minutes crews had much of the fire extinguished. Crews were being requested to open up walls to check for hidden fire in the walls.
The fire was placed under control at 3:38 p.m.
In addition to all Upper Darby stations, Llanerch, Clifton Heights, Lansdowne, Manoa and Darby assisted on the blaze.
