A Scranton man faces theft charges after police say he stole tools from Brown’s Mid-Valley Tires on June 1.
According to Blakely police, Alvie McCane, 44, presented himself to the business as being destitute and “out of the goodness of their heart,” employees provided him with a tire at no cost.
“Unfortunately, rather than repaying their generosity with gratitude, the defendant chose to steal tools from the business,” police said.
McCane faces misdemeanor charges of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
