‘Summer at the Library’ reading campaign kicks off across the city

SUNSET PARK — BROOKLYN PUBLIC LIBRARY, The New York Public Library and Queens Public Library on Tuesday launched “Summer at the Library,” an annual campaign designed to encourage New Yorkers of all ages to read all year long. Hundreds of programs and activities will be held across the city’s library systems, including reading with a therapy dog, garden and nature story times, dance parties for teens and more. 

As part of the kickoff, on Saturday, Bay Ridge and Central Libraries (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and Greenpoint Library (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) will offer book giveaways, crafts and performances.
