ALLENTOWN, Pa. — The City of Allentown is offering numerous free resources to help residents beat the heat this Thursday and Friday.

There will be a Heat Advisory in place beginning late Thursday morning and lasting through Friday evening for the entire area.

City officials are advising its residents to stay indoors in an air-conditioned space if possible. 

If you do not have access to a cool location, Allentown offers the following free resources to help you beat the heat:

Free Spray Parks in Allentown (Open Daily, 11 AM – 8 PM)

Public Air-Conditioned Buildings

Allentown Public Library | 1210 Hamilton St. | Hours: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PMLehigh Valley Active Life | 1633 Elm St. | Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (Please enter through the doors facing the parking lot)

Extreme heat is dangerous for everyone, especially young children and older adults, city officials said. 

Authorities advise residents to stay hydrated, protect pets by keeping them indoors and off hot pavement, and checking on relatives, neighbors, and the elderly.
