The Pennsylvania State Senate will consider a bill that aims to expand protections against image-based sexual abuse, including real and AI-generated images, which supporters say would close a loophole.The bill, which passed the state House on Wednesday, would also expand the definition of intent to include knowing or reckless distribution of such images. The bill proposes a tiered system of penalties based on the level of harm and intent. Current law applies only when the person who non-consensually shares images is a current or former intimate partner of the victim and acts with the intent to harass or annoy.
