SOUTH ABINGTON TWP. — A Plymouth man was arraigned Tuesday on allegations he threatened and assaulted an 81-year-old woman during a road rage incident last month.
Police in South Abington Township charged Raymond S. Cupinski, 61, with simple assault, terroristic threats, harassment, disorderly conduct, and failure to yield at a yield sign. Cupinski was arraigned by District Judge Paul Keeler of South Abington Township and was released after posting $25,000 bail on May 16.
Police say the woman was operating a vehicle and passed through a one-lane tunnel on Shady Lane Road when Cupinski failed to yield and entered the tunnel from the opposite direction
Cupinski exited his vehicle and approached the woman’s vehicle, striking her car multiple times, and verbally threatened the woman, who was also physically assaulted, police allege.
A witness recorded the alleged incident and provided footage to police.
Detectives from the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office and Hanover Township police assisted in the apprehension of Cupinski on Tuesday.
