Erie police are looking for a suspect after an armed robbery.

It happened friday morning around 11 o’clock. Police said a 21-year-old woman was walking near East 18th and Reed streets when a black Chevy sedan pulled up next to her.

The suspect, who police said was wearing a black jogging suit, jumped out of the car with a gun and stole about $100 from the woman.

“Certainly, concerning you know this was 10, 11 o’clock in the morning on a Friday. Obviously, it’s very concerning to us. The major crimes team will be taking a look at this. Obviously, there was some confrontation between the victim and individuals in this vehicle, so we’ll be taking a look at that. There’s some security footage in and around that area that we’ll be taking a look at as well,” said City of Erie Chief of Police Rick Lorah.
