SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Some exciting news for kids and families in and around the Scranton area: the city’s public pools are open. Hundreds of people headed to Connell Park Saturday afternoon for a dip in the pool.
Kids splashed around, teens dove in at the deep end, and others found a spot in the shade.
It’s a community space for people of all ages to make fun summer memories for kids like Robbie Spann and Amariyana Johnson.
Keeping the party rocking at the Pocono Raceway
“I like jumping in the pool a lot,” Scranton resident Robbie Spann said.
“You get to spend time with your friends and play in the pool,” Amariyana Johnson from Scranton told 28/22 News.
Besides the Connell Park Pool, the Weston Park Pool and the Novembrino Splash Pad opened in the Electric City.
