Allentown police are investigating a serious motorcycle crash that closed a busy road overnight.
Captain Alicia Conjour said the crash at Basin and South Woodward streets occurred just after midnight and that the motorcyclist sustained serious injuries. Basin Street was shut down in both directions as first responders worked at the scene.
It was at least the second serious motorcycle crash reported this weekend in the Lehigh Valley.
A fatal crash Friday evening closed the intersection of Daly Avenue and the Minsi Trail Bridge in south Bethlehem. The Northampton County coroner was called to the scene, county emergency dispatch confirmed.
Photos posted to the Lehigh Valley Breaking News Facebook page showed two motorcycles down in the roadway, in addition to what appeared to be a bicycle or e-bike.
Northampton County officials have not yet released details about that crash.
