2026 Erie Pride parade cancelled due to severe storms in forecast
Sorry to rain on your parade. The Northwestern Pennsylvania Pride Alliance has canceled the 2026 Pride parade due to weather concerns. According to the group’s Facebook page, “After a lot of deliberation, … we’re canceling the parade today.”
Thunderstorms with high winds and lightning in the forecast forced the Pride Alliance to cancel the annual parade which typically draws thousands to State Street and Perry Square. The National Weather Service in Cleveland states showers and a thunderstorm are possible in the afternoon, with a 90% chance of precipitation.
A hazardous weather outlook issued by the NWS states “strong to severe storms are possible this afternoon into the evening,” with a slight risk “of severe weather with damaging wind gusts the primary threat.”
For those who want their rainbow flags to fly, the post pointed viewers to Pride on the Bay 2026, set for noon on June 27 at Liberty Park.
