A South Scranton is accused of stabbing another woman in the arm as she lay in bed. Police believe the motive may have been jealousy.

Stephanie Padelski, 35, faces felony charges of burglary, aggravated assault and criminal trespass.

According to police, officers were called to 720 South Webster Avenue at about 9 p.m. on Thursday for the report of a stabbing.

Officers learned that Padelski had illegally entered the residence and stabbed another woman in bed with a man that may have been Padelski’s previous romantic partner.

Padelski who fled the scene, was arrested Friday.

Police described the stabbing as an “isolated domestic incident.”

Padelski also faces misdemeanor charges of recklessly endangering another person.

The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening. She was treated at Geisinger Community Medical Center and released.

Padelski is “awaiting preliminary hearing,” according to court records.
