Ernesto Martinez Jr. hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the fourth to turn a two-run deficit into a one-run lead, and the RailRiders never trailed again in their 6-5 victory over Lehigh Valley on Sunday at PNC Field.
Keaton Anthony hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the first to give the IronPigs (32-37) a 1-0 lead.
Otto Kemp added a solo homer in the third for a 2-0 advantage.
Marco Luciano’s RBI single in the third cut the deficit to 2-1, but Dylan Carlson answered with an RBI groundout in the fourth to increase the Lehigh Valley lead to 3-1.
In the bottom of the fourth, Martinez crushed a laser to right with an exit velocity of 112.3 mph for a 4-3 RailRiders (34-34) lead.
Tyler Hardman extended the lead with a solo homer in the sixth, and Jonathan Ornelas tacked on an RBI single in the seventh for a 6-3 advantage.
Felix Reyes cut the deficit to 6-5 with a two-run homer in the eighth, but Dylan Coleman locked down his second save of the season, getting Paul McIntosh to fly out to center and Carlson to ground into a double play.
