ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A Pennsylvania man is behind bars after warrants show he pointed a gun at an Onslow County deputy.
83-year-old R Edward Leshinski was arrested by Onslow County deputies yesterday.
According to warrants, deputies were investigating a report of a reckless or impaired driver when Leshinski revealed and pointed a revolver at a deputy.
The documents say Leshinski was refusing to comply after the deputy asked him to leave the area.
Leshinski was reportedly drinking alcohol while holding the gun, warrants say.
Leshinski was arrested and charged with assault on a law enforcement officer with a firearm, carrying a firearm while consuming, assault by pointing a gun, and resisting a public officer.
He was taken to the Onslow County Jail and was denied bond.
Leshinski is scheduled to appear in court today.
