(WHTM) – Union Pacific’s Big Boy No. 4014 locomotive is headed to Central Pennsylvania as part of its nationwide tour.
The 23 state whistlestop tour has already hit northeast Pennsylvania, with the 133-foot-long steam engine arriving at the Near Lake Shore Railway Museum on June 9.
After passing through upstate New York, the train visited Bradford County on June 12 and traveled on the Tunkhannock Creek Viaduct on June 13.

It then traveled to Nesquehoning and Pittston on June 14, and will be in Scranton from June 15 to June 30 at the Steamtown National Historic Site for a $1 ticketed viewing event.
After traveling through Jim Thorpe, Reading, and Pottstown on July 2, the Big Boy will travel through King of Prussia and stop in Philadelphia on July 4 for a free two-day viewing event.
After departing Philadelphia on July 6, the Big Boy will again travel through King of Prussia on its way to the Midstate.
The Lebanon Station will welcome the locomotive at 12:30 p.m. on July 7 for just 45 minutes. The station is located at 250 N. 8th Street.
On July 8, the journey continues into Enola with a 9 a.m. private departure toward the Roundhouse Road crossing in Lewistown. Scheduled to arrive at 12:45 p.m., the train will head to the Railroaders Memorial Museum in Altoona, where it will remain for several days.
On July 11, the locomotive heads to Cresson Railroad Park with another stop in Leetsdale, Allegheny County. The final stop of the Pennsylvania tour will be on July 12 with a departure from Conway, Beaver County.
From there, there’ll be stops in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, and Wyoming, where the journey began in Cheyenne.

Those planning to visit the train are being reminded by Union Pacific to stay at least 25 feet from all tracks and not trespass on private property.
