A young man was killed and at least five other people were injured in separate shootings over the weekend across Philadelphia.
Law enforcement officials said a 19-year-old man was gunned down just after 11:15 p.m. Saturday on the 1700 block of Brill Street, in the Wissinoming section of Northeast Philadelphia. Medics declared him dead at the scene.
Authorities have not publicly identified the victim, and the PPD has not released any details about the circumstances surrounding the killing.
Three women were hurt when shots were fired during a fight that occurred at around 12:30 a.m. Sunday in the area of 15th and Clearfield streets in North Philadelphia, investigators said.
Two women were involved in an altercation on the ground when a 27-year-old man took out a handgun and pulled the trigger, according to police. All three women – ages 19, 22 and 30 – were taken to Temple University Hospital to be treated for nonlife-threatening injuries, law enforcement said.
The victims were transported in private vehicles to Temple, and police said the gunman fled the hospital area in a silver Ford Taurus.
Early Saturday morning, at around 1 a.m., a man and a woman were shot while sitting inside a car on the 2300 block of N. Myrtlewood Street in Strawberry Mansion, according to authorities.
Officers responding to the scene found a 28-year-old woman outside the vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, officials said. She was hospitalized in critical condition, according to the PPD.
Investigators said a 26-year-old man who was shot in his thigh ran to his girlfriend’s house, and she drove him to the hospital, where he was in stable condition.
The man was behind the wheel and the female victim was in the passenger’s seat at the time of the shooting, authorities said.

Through June 13, 66 people had been murdered in Philadelphia this year, down 33% compared to the same date in 2025, according to police data. The number of gunshot victims has also dropped 37%.
